Take your mind back to February 2019. Manchester’s only grocery store, the previous version of the “Manchester Market”, had just closed after an extended standoff between the owners of the business and the owners of the building. The business was gone, and the building (in need of many big repairs) was closed. The only option for food in town was prepared foods at restaurants, and shelf-stable foods at the chain discount store.

Acorn Farmers' Market and Café is a neighborhood farmers market selling locally-sourced meat, dairy, and produce, baked goods, freshly prepared ready-to-eat foods, cut flowers, honey, maple syrup, coffee and tea, and many other local products. All items are priced by the producers directly for Manchester customers. Farmers keep 75% of each sale--which is more than 4x the national average! Acorn also hosts local events focused on agriculture, nutrition and the arts.
